About me
Alessandra Farina was born in May 1970 in Rome. Growing up surrounded by paintbrushes and the scent of turpentine, she was deeply influenced by her mother’s art, which helped shape her own creative vision.
She graduated in 1989 from the Accademia di Belle Arti, specializing in theatrical fashion and costume design. Shortly after completing her studies, she was hired by Valentino’s Maison and began working as the personal stylist for Italian actress Dalila Di Lazzaro.
Driven by curiosity and a passion for discovery, Alessandra expanded her horizons by assisting set designer Silvio Litto. Together, they explored the use of textures and materials in cinematic design, blending visual storytelling with hands-on artistry.
In 1993, she was hired as a cartoonist at Graphilm, led by Maurizio Forestieri, where she worked on both long and short films, specializing in in-between animation (inter-frame filling).
Her love for art brought her to London in 1995, where she learned the technique of papier-mâché and began creating unique, sculptural furniture pieces, later sold in various design shops.
In the following years, she also specialized in children’s illustration techniques, further expanding her artistic repertoire.
In 2005, Alessandra earned a diploma in tattoo artistry, launching a successful practice that she continues to operate today.
Her curiosity later led her into the world of sculpture and design, where she creates 3D artwork using materials such as Super Sculpey, crete, and carded wool.
Since 2015, Alessandra has collaborated with Santoro Ltd, a renowned design company that now publishes her artwork in 54 countries.
